My good friends at Ozeri have once again given me the opportunity to review a product for them. Although the product was supplied to me at no charge, all opinions are my own.
The Green Earth Pan by Ozeri is the latest of the fine Ozeri family of products I’ve had the pleasure to view. The Green Earth Pan isn’t just green because of the color of the base. It’s green because the ceramic coating features Ecozeri, an ultra-safe 100% PTFE and PFOA non-stick coating. This means there is no fear of the older coatings once used on non-stick cookware.
I had to watch a friend of mine when she came to visit me a while back. She saw my Green Earth Pan laying on the kitchen cabinet and couldn’t resist picking it up. She loved the weight of the skillet and the handle. She said this would be an ideal skillet for cooking eggs or a small omelet. Specifically, she mentioned the handle being ideal for flipping eggs with your wrist. As we’re not egg eaters around here, it’s a perspective that I wouldn’t otherwise have.
Since we don’t eat eggs, you may be interested to know what I have used the Green Earth Pan to cook. I used it to cook up some ooey, gooey caramelized apples for my Apple Cinnamon Doughnuts. I started by adding butter and chopped apples to the hot pan. Next, a generous handful of brown sugar. I literally cooked it all together until the brown sugar and butter caramelized and was boiling.
You would think that an ooey, gooey, stick mess like that would leave a horrible mess to clean up, wouldn’t you? NOPE! Even when the pan was piping hot, the caramelized apples poured out of the pan like water. To put it through a tougher test, I left the pan sitting in my kitchen sink for two days without any water in it. I figured that I’d have to scrub forever to get the mess out. Imagine my surprise when all it took was a little hot water and soap on a paper towel to remove any lasting stickiness. What a testimony for non-stick cookware!
