THEME:

During the month of February the Dishing it Up crew is posting recipes and food preparation tips that are intended to help you go “From the Freezer” to the table with minimal effort.  My posts aren’t necessarily about meals that are ready to heat and eat, but instead I prep ALL of my meat before I put it into the freezer.  This saves me TONS of time when I’m ready to cook, because my meats are already seasoned.  Some of the meats are ready to be cooked, while others are already cooked.

Pork Chops on Sale

The best time to fill the freezer like this is when you’re able to stock up with sale prices.  I couldn’t believe when I found these Boneless Butterfly Split Pork Chops for $1.99/lb.  I bought three trays of these for about $16.50.  Since I cut each pork chop in half and others into bite-size pieces, I ended up with enough packets for 24 servings.  With only having two of us in our household, this gives us about 12 meals for about $1.37 per meal or about $0.69 per serving.

Pork Chops From The Freezer
Ingredients
  • Pork Chops
  • Mrs. Dash
  • Garlic Salt
  • Seasoned Salt
  • Chicken Seasoning
  • Storage Bags
  • Cutting Board
  • SHARP Knife
Instructions
  1. Open all packages of meat and lay them out side by side.
  2. Sprinkle each of the seasonings over the pork chops. Save the Chicken Seasoning and Mrs. Dash until last because they have larger, chunkier pieces that may keep the salts from sticking to the chops. Season both sides of the chops. Seasoned Pork Chops
  3. Little ones usually want to help in the kitchen, so this is a great way to involve them! She did very little, but thought she was doing SO MUCH! She only handled the shakers, I handled all of the raw meat. Cooking with Kids Pork Chops
  4. After I cut each of the chops in half along the split, she held the bag open while I put the chops in. Two of the packs were stored like this, giving me 16 individual chops. Pork Chops for the Freezer
  5. The remaining package of chops was cut into bite-size pieces, one chop at a time. Each chop was bagged as cut to keep the portions equal. Chopped Pork Chops for Oriental Food
  6. Want to make the Pork Chops or Sweet & Sour Pork? Just batter the pork with flour & fry.

Now what do I with all of these pork chops?
