Bacon and Cheese Pull Apart Bread

one of the simplest recipes I’ve ever made!

I saw a similar recipe on another a while back and decided that I MUST try it for myself. Of course, I switched it up a bit and am quite pleased with the results. I knew I had a winner when my daughter walked in after school today and proclaimed, “Dad gum, it smells good in here! What did you cook?!?” I had it timed so that it would be a perfect after school snack for her. As a high schooler, hair and makeup are more important than things like breakfast. Then at lunch, friends become the priority. Needless to say, she comes home starving most days! So, she was chomping at the bit for the Bacon and Cheese Pull Apart Bread to come out of the oven.

Bacon and Cheese Pull Apart Bread
Ingredients
  • Loaf of Bakery Style Bread
  • Crispy Fried Bacon Bits
  • Finely Grated Cheese
  • Tub of Philadelphia Cooking Cream
  • Jalapeno Peppers, Juice, Pepperjack Cheese (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375*.
  2. Slice the entire end off bacon when planning to cook as bacon bits.
  3. Turn each chunk of bacon on its side and cut again. It's now cut into almost perfect squares.
  4. Spread bacon apart and cook in a HOT skillet. Move the bacon around while cooking. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Place loaf of bread on foil.
  6. Slice bread from side to side. Make cuts almost to bottom of loaf.
  7. Turn loaf and slice again almost to the bottom of the loaf. See the little squares?
  8. Mix the Philly Cream in a bowl with a handful of cheese.
  9. Spoon mixture down into the cuts. Make sure to turn and spoon into cuts in both direction.
  10. So what if it gets messy?
  11. Top with more grated cheese and crumbled bacon.
  12. Gather foil loosely around loaf.
  13. Cover loaf loosely with foil on top. Leave it high above loaf so that it does not stick to cheese.
  14. Bake covered at 375* for about 15 minutes. Remove foil on top and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
  15. The bread is smothered in delicious yumminess!

The original recipe I saw was posted on Plain Chicken.
