A Sleep Innovations Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper may just change your mind about needing a new mattress set. My mattress set is honestly about twenty five to thirty years old, but only has about a decade or so worth of use. My set is a plain, old-school style, with no pillow-top or memory foam built in. After living in a Holiday Inn for three summers during graduate school (single parents with kids couldn’t live in the dorms), I realized how much I really liked their pillow top mattresses. Rolled up into this tiny, little sleeping bag type package was my new mattress topper. My initial thought was that it would never be comfortable. I read the package insert and found that I shouldn’t panic. The instructions indicated that the topper would return to its full size, with 72 hours, after removing the packaging, and allowing it to “breathe” at room temperature. I was skeptical, but there was no turning back so I spread the topper out on my kitchen table. There was also a warning about a possible smell that would fade quickly. There was no noticeable smell to me.
I was shocked when I saw the topper the next morning. It had doubled in size overnight! I left it on the kitchen table for nearly 72 hours and by then needed my daughter to help me carry it down the hallway. It was so full and cushiony, we couldn’t figure out how to move it. We had to really use our heads to figure it out and we had fun in the process of moving from the kitchen to my bedroom.
To my surprise, the Sleep Innovations Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper came with a 
mattress cover specially made with a zippered pocket on top to hold the topper in place. Other than the zipper pocket, it’s like a regular mattress pad that fits down over the mattress. The pocketed cover gave me a truly washable option I had long sought. I used sheet grippers and 
fasteners on my old mattress topper to keep it held in place, but it typically shifted around anyway. Sheet grippers anchored my fitted sheet in place when I used my old mattress topper, without them, my sheets ended up in the middle of my bed every night. I no longer need to use grippers or fasteners to hold my sheets in place, they haven’t shifted or slipped off my mattress, at all, since I began sleeping on the Sleep Innovations Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper.

Now that I’ve slept on my new mattress topper for almost two weeks, I realize several things. My mattress set is just as comfortable as the 10” memory foam mattress set I investigated the night before putting the new mattress topper 
on my bed. I may not need new pillows after all. My Sleep Innovations pillows were shifting down between the Old Lumpy Bumpy mattress topper, the mattress, and my open-sectioned headboard. The new topper fits the entire length of my bed, unlike the old topper, which was four inches shorter than the mattress (probably from the washing and drying).
There is no doubt that I am sleeping better than I have in a quite some time. Old Lumpy Bumpy was interfering with me getting a good night’s sleep and might have actually caused or aggravated some of the physical problems that I have blamed on the MS. MS has damaged nerves in my spine and often results in pulsing pain in my back and down my left leg, especially after getting into bed.
Once my bed was completely made, I was really surprised at the difference just in the appearance of my bed with the new topper. There are NO lumps or bumps with my Sleep Innovations Gel Memory Foam Topper and I sleep much better!
Since I started sleeping on the Sleep Innovations Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper there have been fewer episodes of this pain that are only quieted by extremely powerful (narcotic) painkillers. Let me spell that out, I am taking fewer painkillers because my bed is more comfortable and Old Lumpy Bumpy isn’t irritating my nerves! I also suffer from somewhat severe episodes of bursitis in my right shoulder. It also seems less inflamed since I started sleeping on the Sleep Innovations Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper. With my pillows staying in place and higher, I’m not having as many headaches either!
So, what is my overall conclusion of the Sleep Innovations Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper? It is worth every penny you spend to get a good night of sleep and allowing your body the restorative rest, you need in order to be productive and healthy!
