Dishing it Up Rice Recipes LinkyRice Recipes

I don’t know about your house, but rice recipes are a staple at my house!  Why?  Rice is naturally gluten-free and that is a must for most things prepared and eaten by me.  My mom cooked rice two ways when I was a kid, plain white and in a sausage with rice casserole.  I never really liked rice when I was kid, especially if we didn’t have gravy to put on it.  I find it so ironic these days that it is one of the few foods that I have absolutely NO allergies to at all.  Because of my gluten intolerance, I even cook with rice flour.

I do buy lots of box rice mixes, but don’t like the ready to eat rice pouches.  To me, they taste just like the plastic bag they are sold in.  Instead of buying those, I just make sure I have plenty of rice cooked, frozen, and ready to heat and eat in my freezer.  With the rice mixes, I don’t always just use the plain box mix.  Sometimes I will add extra vegetables to it or use it as an ingredient in some kind of rice dish that I’ve made up or made up a copycat recipe for.

My rice dishes all tend to be on the savory side.  Other members of the Dishing It Up crew have more members of their household and tend to have a wider variety of recipes they create.  However, I must brag and tell you that my Broccoli Rice Casserole is probably the most visited recipe on my site.  If you haven’t checked it out yet, make sure you do.
