As a Tomoson Review Blogger, I was recently given the opportunity to review the Qi Orthopedic Pillow.   Although the product was supplied to me at no charge, all opinions are my own.

Qi Orthopedic Pillow

It’s hard to believe that an 18″ x 18″ pillow is easily customizable for every user, but the Qi Orthopedic Pillow offers a unique experience of each user.  I was quite curious how the newly arrived package, claiming to be an orthopedic pillow, would develop from the soft package in front of me.  Within about two minutes my pillow had been figured out, was in my chair, and ready for use.

The chair shown in the picture is my office.  Yep, I blog from my recliner.  This recliner is my best friend, it has a heat and massage unit in it which makes life with MS a little easier.  It’s MY seat in my house and when I’m having problems with the MS or my sinuses, it’s where I end up sleeping, too.  The downfall of having such a great best friend is that the material the chair is made from doesn’t hold up very well in my knee or lower back area.

This is actually the second of my chairs like this one.  It also had the same break down problems that this one has, but has held up better than my previous one.  My daughter and I used to take the chair apart and try to refluff the filling.  We gave up though because it just smashes flat again within hours.  I live in the chair, obviously, so the lack of back support is not good on my back or hips.

The Qi Orthopedic Pillow has come to my rescue.  The first time I used it, I liked it.  After a little while, I realized that I had too much air in the cushion.  Less than a minute later, I had the pillow adjusted, back in place, and felt even more comfortable than before.  That’s part of the great thing about the pillow, it can be adjusted for each person who uses it and for every chair you use it in.

All you need to do is flip the pillow, find the hidden zipper, and open it.  Inside, there is a lightly padded zipper case.  Within the padded zipper case is the air bladder.  The valve needs to be turned to blow it up to your  own comfort level.  I’m asthmatic, so blowing things up with my lungs doesn’t always go so well.  There was no issue, it only took a couple of small puffs to blow up my pillow.  Twist the valve cap to capture the air.  To release the air, just twist the cap the opposite direction, release the desired amount of air, close it off, and you’re done.  Zip it closed and use the pillow.

My 16 year old daughter even likes my Qi Orthopedic Pillow.  She even specifically asks to use it, something she’s never done with any other pillow in the living room.  She said that it’s like using an air bubble for a pillow.  Great comments about a lightweight yet supportive pillow!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Thanks for your review of the pillow. I’ve been curious about how it felt and held up to daily use. My husband has the same issues as you with his chair not having good lumbar support. It sounds like the Qi Orthopedic pillow would be a great solution!
