Do you struggle and search trying to find just the right containers to use when packing your lunch?  Do you want to pack a more eco-friendly lunch for your child than a lunchbox filled with plastic baggies?  Looking for an easier way to diet that doesn’t force you to strictly measure your foods, but still allows for variety?  Well, Rubbermaid has a solution for all of these situations.  It’s called the LunchBlox and is available as four different kits to meet almost everyone’s needs:

Rubbermaid asked me to review the Sandwich Kit.  I liked it immediately, based solely upon looks.  The tidy square and rectangular boxes thrilled the math teacher in me.  😉  Once I took them out of the package, I liked them even better.  Oh how the it awakened the science teacher in me when I found the  containers marked with both standard and metric measurements.  Yes, once a teacher, always a teacher!

The blox have built-in “lox.”  The base is the perfect size and shape for a sandwich, with plenty of room for the fixings.  A  thin blue ice block lox onto the lid of the sandwich container.  On top of the blue ice lox in three additional blox.  The larger of the three blox is marked with 1/4 and 3/4 c. measurements..  Forget the measurements!  It’s perfect for something like Cheetos, potato salad, or other side.  The other two blox are the same size as one another and marked with 1 and 3 oz.  These are ideal for a small serving of a veggie and a fruit or one of them with a dip.  These would also make it easy to stick to a diet when you’re given so many options to mix and match to create your meal choices.

When I was teaching, I was responsible for teaching health.  I often had a nutritionist come in from our county extension office to do lessons with my students.  My students were usually shocked when she taught the proper portion sizes of  foods they should be eating.  A product like the Rubbermaid LunchBlox could be a great way to help our kids learn about proper nutrition and balanced meals as we send them back to school this fall.

TargetRubbermaid is offering a $1.50 coupon that you can use toward any of the LunchBlox products.  It’s a SmartSource coupon and you should be able to print two coupons from each computer you have acces to use.  You will have to come back to this link to print each coupon though.  Pressing the back button does not work for SmartSource coupons.  The Rubbermaid LunchBlox are available at Target and other retailers, with individual blox starting at $3.99.  The retail price for the LunchBlox Sandwich Kit is $12.99, but Target sales the kit for $10.99.  Of course, you can always purchase the blox at Rubbermaid.com as well.

Rubbermaid was generous enough to send me a package to review.  No other compensation was received for my review and all opinions expressed are my own.
