Google AdSense Not Active, BUT it REALLY Is!

I nearly had a heart attack tonight when I tried logging into my Google Adsense account.  I immediately double checked both of my email accounts that are associated with my Google Adsense account, but could not find any type of warning, emails, or anything other than a newsletter from just a few days ago.  It made me feel a little calmer when I couldn’t find anything negative from Google.

However, I was still stressed because I continued receiving the following screen on both Firefox and Internet Explorer.  I also thought it was weird because it referred to my application.  I’ve had a Google AdSense account for nearly three years and have never received any kind of warning.

My computer had some issues recently.  It was quite ill and had to go to the shop for a tune up.  So, my next thought was that some setting had been tweaked by my repairman, and that I needed to find a back door into Google AdSense.  I maneuvered my way around until I found my Google Dashboard, which gave me a HUGE sigh of relief!  Just FYI if you’re wondering, your Google Dashboard is a summary of EVERYTHING you’ve connected to with Google.  My Google Dashboard contradicted the above Google AdSense Not Active status.  It was also appearing as active in the Google Products window.  Whew!

Then, I clicked the Settings link and went back to the dreaded Google AdSense Not Active screen.  DRATS!  No back doors into my AdSense account.  Firefox is my browser of choice and I knew that my computer repairman had added Ad Adware Security Toolbar to it, so my thought was that it was somehow blocking me from getting into Google AdSense.  I headed over to Internet Explorer and felt confident that I’d be able to get into my AdSense account.  WRONG!  I came right back to the dreaded Google AdSense Not Active screen.

Next, I posted in one of my blogging groups.  With 713 members, I just knew that someone there would be able to help me find a solution to my problem.  Nope, everyone was either busy or had no ideas to help me.  So, I did the next logical thing.  I googled, “Google AdSense Not Active.”  Of course, I found tons of results, but thankfully the second result on the list was the solution to my problem or at least a work around.  It was a simple YouTube video called “Google AdSense Account Not Active” Fix.

Eureka, a “fix” that only required me to open Google AdSense in yet another browser!  Since I was already having problems with Firefox and Internet Explorer, I tried Google Chrome.  Guess what?  My Google AdSense account logged in without any problem! Why this happens, I have NO clue.  However, I’m thrilled to have found a resolution to the problem.

If anyone knows what causes this Google AdSense Not Active is some browsers, please let me know.  If you know about a true fix to the problem, I’d love to hear about it!

For the nonbloggers reading this and wondering, “What is Google AdSense?”  It’s a method of advertising in which Google works with bloggers and other websites to earn a small commission for advertising .  They’re the ads that you see on websites which are often related to things that you have been searching about on the internet.  They may also reflect an ad that is similar to other items on the website or post being viewed.  Ads and their placement vary from site to site, some of them may come from Google AdSense or other similar companies.  It is against the “rules” for us to encourage you to click the ads, but like anything else on our sites, please click on things that you are truly interested in.

  1. Hi MsDo

I found your post on the FB group Mom Bloggers. My Adsense account was terminated for supposedly “invalid clicks” but that wasn’t so…I was trying to appeal their decision but when I realized I was beating a dead issue with a stick, I just let it go.

I’m sure those with a Google Adsense account will appreciate this post. The only reason I could come up with you being able to log in to Adsense in Chrome is maybe Google wants us to use Chrome…just thinking out loud on an early Monday a.m.

May not make much sense. LOL. It was nice to meet you. Looking forward to reading more of your posts and getting to know ya. Happy Monday!

    • Awww…I’m so very sorry that you lost your Adsense account. If you ever move, you can try to create a new account. Yes, I’ve wondered if it was a push to get us to use Chrome, a browser that I hate! Thanks for stopping by. I’ll watch for you as well!
