Coveroo is Much More than a Smartphone Case

In a world that’s becoming more cookie-cutter and follow-the-leader, we think there’s room for someone who is passionate, loud, creative, sometimes quite odd, but always original.

Coveroo Collage

Oh, hello. There you are.  Welcome to Coveroo.

I had absolutely no idea what a Coveroo was when I was contacted about featuring them in the Holiday Gift Guide.  I did a little investigating and found some really unique cases on the Coveroo that just aren’t found elsewhere.  Officially licensed artwork from the world’s most interesting brands and creators (including you) are printed with wizard perfection on cases from OtterBox, Speck, Mophie and more.  Except these phone cases aren’t like any you’ll find on those sites.

A Coveroo can be made using your image or select one from the following categories, with TONS of subcategories:

  • Universities (even my small, little grad school of NWMSU was included)
  • Sports
  • Cartoons and Comics
  • Indie Design Collection
  • Typography
  • Style & Fashion
  • Causes
  • Animals
  • Vintage
  • Symbols & Logos
  • World
  • Season
  • Create Your Own (Like I Did)

If you want to create your own Coveroo, you need to have a really great image to start with.  I sent my first image to Coveroo, but it wasn’t a high enough quality image.  If you’re using a picture from a digital camera, the image is probably fine.  But, I chose to make a case to match my site.  I make all of my own graphics, so I was able to fix it up and send it back.

These are the specs sent to me by Coveroo if you’re using your own graphics:

  • Vector files are always preferred – they must be in *.ai or *.eps formats and must have their strokes and fonts “expanded”.
  • Non Vector images need to be crisp and clear with as many pixels as possible – the best design files are the largest design files.
  • Floating designs need to be at least 600 pixels wide for prints on phone cases or 1500 pixels wide on tablet cases.
  • Full-bleed designs need to be at least 1500 pixels tall for a print on a phone case or 2400 pixels tall for tablet cases.

I received my Coveroo almost a month ago.  My phone gets a heavy-duty, daily workout.  I call, I text, and I take TONS of pictures with my phone.  I also tend to drop my phone every now and then.  We got rid of the home phone a few months ago, so my phone is plugged in, and on my bed next to my pillow every night.  My hands also tend to be highly acidic.  The keys on my keyboard have few visible letters printed on them and are silky smooth.  None of the texture is left on the keys, but the keyboard is about six years old.

Create your own Coveroo for all of the following devices:

  • iPhone
  • iPad
  • iPod
  • Samsung
  • Amazon
  • BlackBerry
  • Google
  • Kindle
  • Droid
  • HTC
  • LG
  • MacBooks

So, with all of these factors, I wanted to give the phone a good work out before posting my review.  After a month, my Coveroo case is still in pristine condition.  I was so excited to start using it that it was out of the package and on my phone within 30 minutes of arriving and have no plans of taking it off.  After all, what’s the only thing that can make an OtterBox better?  Having it covered with a Coveroo!
