My friends over at Maple Leaf Mommy and Mom vs. the Boys have a new and fun meme that I’m going to try to take part in.

The goal of ABC Friday is to photo share with a challenge!  Each week is a new letter theme, starting with A of course, we will work our way through the alphabet.  I’m coming on board with the letter H.  I may go back and add the other letters later on.

Just post a picture with the letter theme for that week…. A is for Auto, B is for Beach, C is for Cake….get the idea?
This is not Wordless Wednesday, feel free to share in words what the photo is all about! or not, it’s up to you!

If you want to take part in ABC Friday they ask you to link back to the host page in your post so that your readers can easily find them!   Make sure to link up your post, not your homepage!

If you leave a comment on my post, I’ll come and visit yours.  I would appreciate a direct link to your ABC Picture post with your comment.  Many thanks to those of you who already leave your link!

L is for…..

Louisisiana Photo ShareLouisiana is where I was born and raised, way up in the northwest corner of the state.  I was born in Bossier City, where I spent the first half of my life, and the other half was in Benton, still yet a little further north.  Many people inaccurately assume that I’m Cajun because I’m from Louisiana. Unless you’re from Louisiana or Lose – E – Anna as my dad and many of the older folks call it, you just don’t realize how the state should really be broken into a North and South Louisiana.  We all pretty much agree that it’s like that already, at least in mentality.  The dividing line is basically around where the word Louisiana appears on the map above.

Louisiana is famous for so many things, but it has also changed so very much in the twenty years that I’ve lived in Colorado and Missouri.  Once famous for farming and the oil industry, the state is now well-known for hurricanes and the movie industry. Food is as varied as the people throughout the state.  Crawfish didn’t seem to be popular in north Louisiana until I was nearly grown.  Until then, it was fishing bait, and still is to me.  I didn’t grow up eating or cooking Cajun food, instead it was Southern Style and Soul Food.  Food also goes with every emotion and occasion when you’re from Louisiana.

It’s hard of me to think of my home state without thinking of music, all kinds of music.  Many famous musicians have humble beginnings rooted at The Louisiana Hayride – including Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley.  Go further south and you will find soulful Jazz and lively Zydeco.

If you like to sight-see, Louisiana is the state for you.  From the mighty pine woods of the north to the swamps of the south, you are sure to enjoy a huge variety of plants and animals.  And by animals, I don’t just mean the four-legged kind.  After all, Billy the Exterminator, Duck Dynasty, and Swamp People are all filmed from top to the bottom of the boot shaped state.
