1 cup buttermilk
1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal or cornbread mix
1 teaspoon Cajun Seasoning
2 teaspoon Garlic Salt (or Powder)
1 teaspoon Seasoned Salt
2 teaspoons Mrs. Dash

In a bowl, beat together the egg and buttermilk; set aside.
Put the flour and cornmeal on a plate, set aside.
Combine all of the seasonings. Divide between the bowl and plate.

After mixing the seasoning into the milk and egg mixture, drop tomatoes into it for a five minute soak.
Pour oil to a depth of ¼ to ½ inch in a large skillet. Heat to a medium-high temperature (375* if it's important to you).
Remove tomatoes from the egg and milk bath. Drop a few at a time onto the plate to coat with the flour and cornmeal. Coat both sides of the tomatoes with the dry mixture. Shake off excess.
Drop tomatoes, a few at a time, into hot oil. Cook on each side or until golden.
