Homemade Pumpkin Puree

Ingredients
  • Pumpkin
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350*
  2. Wash the exterior of the pumpkin.
  3. Remove stem if desired.
  4. Cut pumpkin in half.

  5. Scrape out the seeds and stringy insides.
  6. Place pumpkin in roasting pan, cut side down.
  7. Bake for an hour to ninety minutes until pumpkin is soft when pushed on. The color will become absolutely beautiful!
  8. Remove from oven.
  9. Use kitchen towel or pot holder to flip pumpkin to cut side.
  10. Use pumpkin scraper to remove and chop pumpkin from skin.
  11. Use a knife or spoon to remove pumpkin, if needed.
  12. Pumpkin can also be pureed using food processor or blender.
  13. Pack unused pumpkin in container sizes equal to needed amount for your pumpkin recipes. Pumpkin puree can also be canned in glass jars, if that's something you're familiar with.
  14. Fresh pumpkin puree may not need as much liquid when used in recipes compared to canned pumpkin.
