Happy Birthday wishes go to my friend Carla, the website and blogger coordinator from Good Cook.  Although I don’t know Carla in “real life” I’m glad to be associated with a hard working lady like her!  The really funny thing about Carla being our Good Cook coordinator is that she really isn’t much of a cook.  Every now and then she will surprise us and share something with us that she has made, but for the most part she just creates the fun and exciting challenges instead.

So, one of the other Good Cook Kitchen Experts suggested that we put together a bunch of virtual birthday cakes for Carla.  MUCH easier than trying to send them to her, don’t you think?  Since Carla isn’t much of a cook, I couldn’t share an elaborate cake that included 10,000 steps to make.  Inside, I thought it was time to share our Pull Apart Monkey Bread.

While my daughter loves to make the Pull Apart Monkey Bread in a Bundt pan, it can be created in any sort of bakeware.  It’s also an easy recipe to prep ahead to pop in the oven the next morning.  Think ahead  for holiday breakfasts like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day.  Just preheat the oven and pop it in.  Make sure that you cover with plastic wrap or foil if prepping the night before so that the dough doesn’t get dried out.

While my daughter loves to make the Pull Apart Monkey Bread in a Bundt pan. If you can shop, you can make this one! It's also an easy recipe to prep ahead.
Ingredients
  • Canned Biscuits (the BIG ones work better)
  • 1 c. Sugar - Brown, White, or Both
  • 1 Tbs Cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to temperature on biscuit can.
  2. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a medium to large covered bowl.
  3. Cut biscuits into four or more pieces.
  4. Drop into the bowl.
  5. Repeat until all biscuits are cut.
  6. Cover bowl and shake to coat with the cinnamon sugar.
  7. Spray the Bundt pan with nonstick spray.
  8. Sprinkle some of the sugar and cinnamon around the bottom and sides of the pan. It will melt and make a glaze while cooking.
  9. Drop the biscuits into the Bundt pan and spread as evenly as possibly.
  10. Do NOT mash the biscuits down.
  11. Bake according to can directions.
  12. Sugar will melt and glaze while baking.
  13. Don't want sticky bread? Don't use the extra sugar around the pan. The bread will still be sweet without being sticky.
  14. Put the serving plate on top of the Bundt pan when it comes out of the oven. Flip the Bundt pan over and the bread should release as a whole cake.
