NumbSkin Topical Anesthetic Cream 10.56% LidocaineNumbSkin Topical Anesthetic Cream 10.56% Lidocaine

This is a slightly edited post from my personal Facebook post on my personal wall.  It is the result of an injury I received earlier this summer.

Thank God for answered prayers, wonderful chiropractors, and relief! I saw both of my chiropractors this week and last. Last week, I was convinced the pain in my shoulder and arm were MS in origins.  Even though I felt so much better after seeing the chiropractor the first week.  After seeing the second chiropractor the second week, I wasn’t sure. It’s funny how they both attended the same school and graduated within a few months apart, but have different enough approaches that I was able to figure out what happened.

She said that it seemed as though I had messed up my Brachial Plexus, which is pretty hard to do. She adjusted my hips, back, elbow, and wrist. Even my HEAD had to be adjusted!! When I went in, I could barely move my hand behind me at all. When I left, I could move my hand completely behind my back. In the four hours since my adjustment, I had already gotten back more movement in my arm than I’d had in a couple of weeks. I was still sore and stiff, but sooo much better than I’ve been! After my daughter and I left the chiropractor’s office, I realized what caused the problem.

Shawn & the Fall

The teenagers had a bonfire on the night of her graduation party. The darling in this pink shirt, did one of those, “You can’t catch me,” sort of things. Never one to turn down a challenge, I took off after him. Too bad he stopped short and I didn’t stop until my head made full contact with the front tire of my riding mower. Yep, the same riding mower behind his butt! Now, you know the rest of the story! So, I beg of you, if you’ve been in any sort of an accident and still have all kinds of pain, especially nerve pain, find a GOOD chiropractor! I’ve used the Crocker (in Lebanon, MO) and Ogle (Waynesville, MO) families for over a decade. The Crockers are the first generation of chiropractors and the Ogles are the second generation in the same family. Sorry if you’re not in our area, but they’re the best!

As great as my chiropractors are, I am still relying on medical interventions as well.  I’m still in considerable pain.  It runs from the top of my shoulder, down the front, and under the collar bone.  Next it runs from the collar bone down my arm to my ring finger.  It crosses in and out of my upper right  arm, almost down to my wrist.

Sadly, I’m often relying on my Narcotic paint medication  They don’t necessarily work, either.

NumbSkin™ is a non-oily topical anesthetic cream, perfect for skin pain relief while getting a tattoo, laser removal or any other minor surgical procedure. NumbSkin™ is recommended by medical practitioners and tattoo artists worldwide for painless skin procedures. We guarantee your skin will be numb in a few seconds and stay like that for about 4 hours

Typically, the NumbSkin goes on much easier than the Lidocaine patches.  I’ve used both.  The pain patches must adhere properly to your skin.  I have Lidocaine prescription patches, but they do not hold tell too well to me and mine.  They’re also difficult to get to stick to places like the top of my shoulders.  They roll up, fall off, and stick better to my clothes than they do to me.   They’re also a pain to put on and take off when you live alone like I do.

The NumbSkin makes life much more bearable with the pain I’m currently experiencing.  I am able to rub the NumbSkin directly into the spots that hurt so badly and it begins to lessen the pain immediately.  The pain patches typically take hours before I notice any relief.  I keep the NumbSkin on my night side table and I’m able to just grab it and rub it on during the middle of the night when the pain starts.  Within minutes the pain subsides and I’m soon back to sleep.  No having to get out of bed to find pills, get a drink, open patches, or wait for the medication to take effect.  There’s also no odor, so I can use it any time, anywhere and a smell doesn’t give away the fact that I’m in pain.

I can say without a doubt that NumbSkin has made a MAJOR improvement on my ability to deal with this non-ending pain!

This looks great! I have an annular tear and degenerative disk disease in my lower back and and I stay on prescription pain medication. However, just last week as I was getting out of bed I felt, what I thought at the time, a wasp sting me in my hip. Well, I ran to the bathroom to pull down my drawers and look at my hip in the mirror. I didn’t see anything! It wasn’t red or swollen at all. Only I could injure myself by getting out of bed, lol. So now every time I move my leg in a certain direction I feel like I’m getting stung by wasps! I went to my pain management doctor last Tuesday and explained my problem and they gave me, lo and behold, the Lidoderm patch! Now, I go get it filled and even after insurance I still had to pay $55 for these patches. I immediately put one on when I got home and was surprised that it didn’t seem to help at all. So I waited until the next night and decided to sleep with one on. I woke up the next morning and couldn’t find my patch! It was stuck to my sheet. I have been fighting trying to keep them on because like you said, they just peel up as soon as you put it on which is why I thought if I wore it at night I would be moving less therefore it should stay on, right? Nope! Anyway, if I could get my hands on some of this magical cream you speak of, I would be forever grateful! Not only would I not have to worry about that dang patch falling off but I wouldn’t have to wait hours for it to work! Also, the fact that this cream has more than twice the amount of lidocaine in it is a no brainier for me. Is it available without a prescription? I am so happy you posted this review because I would have never known it existed!

    • UGH! It sounds like you totally understand my frustration with the patches! This cream is the same price as the patches. You’ll be much happier with it.

  6. I have pretty severe pain in my legs and feet from neuropathy. I wish the pain was unknown like the cause! I take the prescription medication, gabapentin for the pain, but am still lucky to sleep 3 to 4 hours without waking up from pain (and that is after it takes me a long while to even fall asleep, despite the sleepiness caused by my medications. I’d sure like to try this and see if it helps.

  7. I have tried lidocaine patches which don’t stick well to me so love the fact there is a cream!!

  8. Stefanie says

I would like to try it.
