I was given a coupon to try Johnsonville Chicken Sausage. It comes in several flavor varieties – apple, chipotle monterey jack cheese and 3 cheese italian style. We chose the apple.
If it gives you any idea of how we feel about it, I’ve already purchased it a couple more times. I’ve tried it 3 ways and it really is good! The first day I bought it, we were in a rush for a quick dinner, so I decided to give it a try. I loved the apple chicken sausage from the first bite. However, that night, I mixed it with some New Orleans style boxed rice,which was not a good combination.
Since we really liked the actual chicken sausage, I got some more and a different rice and made this apple sausage and rice casserole. That was very good. However, I’d seen another recipe that sounded good, so I decided to get more and try it a third time. I made this apple chicken stir fry (with extra pineapple) and it was by far our favorite of the three tries! I particularly loved this BzzAgent campaign because I’m not sure I would have ever thought to try this product without it. It is something different, very versatile and healthy! Though I used them for casserole type dishes, these would be good just fried in a skillet!
