Delightfully Simple DisneySide Dining

I wanted our DisneySide at Home Celebration to be really fun and laid back.  After all, isn’t that what Disney is supposed to be about?  After looking around, I decided that we would have Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Sandwiches, Chips, Cookies, and Cupcakes.  No big mess, no hassle.

As part of my Hostess Kit, I received a set of Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutters.  I wasn’t wild about rolling and cutting sugar cookies because I already had plans for my Mickey Mouse Oreo cookies and cupcakes.  I knew my friends would kill me if I sent them home completely hopped up on sugar.

A few days before the party, I pulled my cheeses out of the refrigerator and started playing.  The cheese cut out really well using the cookie cutters.  No, it didn’t need to be cut one slice at a time.  I wouldn’t suggest trying to cut more than about four slices at a time though.

By prepping the cheese ahead of time, it made party day setup a breeze.  Clubhouse Sandwich fixing were kept very basic with meat, cheese, mustard, mayo, and sliced French bread.  The stars were Swiss, Mickey heads were Colby Jack, and Mickey’s gloves were Mozzarella.

The cheese was a big hit!  Of course, my friends teased me about why I didn’t have all of the meats and breads cut to match the cheese.

Most people also wanted to know if I through out the leftover cheese.  I even asked a few if they had ever met me before.  I couldn’t believe they would ask me that kind of question.  They obviously don’t read my blog very often or they would know that I buy cheese every time I have a coupon.  So, NO, I didn’t throw out any cheese.  ALL of the scraps were saved and eaten.  Some were used in a cute way like this bagel with pepperoni and Colby Jack, but most of it was just eaten as plain old sliced cheese.

For dessert, we had some fun DisneySide cupcakes and Oreos.  Directions for the Oreos will be on the site soon.  The Cupcakes were baked in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cupcake papers included in my hostess kit.  They were decorated with Celebrations Candy Pearls.  Can you see where I tried to use the #DisneySide @ Home and tried to make a home with the pearls?

DisneySide OreosThe day before the get together, I found this set of Mickey Mouse Dinnerware at a local thrift shop.  It was perfect for serving the Mickey Mouse Oreos.  The dishes didn’t come ready made like this though.  That’s another post that I have planned for you as well.

Of course, there are some really fun Disney based recipes available.  Just click on over to Spoonful to check them out.  It’s a Disney website.   There are plenty of other great recipes available on Babble, another Disney family site.
